Sweet Red Peppers

What’s the difference between the two kinds of Sweet Red Peppers?

La Rouge Style
The elongated “La Rouge” style field-grown variety from Mexico is great for roasting and chopping. Their flavor is rich and prices affordable, but the shape can be inconsistent and the thickness of the pepper wall is slightly thinner.

Bell Style
The blocky “Bell” style varieties of Sweet Red Peppers are in season from greenhouses in Mexico, Israel and Canada. They taste very sweet, are juicy and have a very uniform shape making them perfect for stuffing and slicing.

Cut slices of Red Peppers for snacking with dip or hummus or to top your salad. Roast, stuff, sauté and more!
